Conditions
Conditions serve as filters for products within various aspects of the Dotidot interface, such as campaign creation, KW generators, ad creation, variable creation, Image editor, feed exports, and much more. In essence, their utility spans across a multitude of functions, making them incredibly versatile and valuable. Here's a short guide on how to use them:
Limit for values in conditions
When using conditions with values (e.g. GTIN, MPN, ID), please note that there is a limit on how many values can be inserted:
- You can add up to 1,000 values per condition
- It is not possible to save a condition with more than 1,000 values
- If you try to paste or insert more, you will see a validation message explaining the limitation
Why this limit exists
Using very large lists (thousands of values) inside conditions can lead to:
- Slow loading and editing of the page
- Decreased performance of the application
- Difficult and unclear condition management
Recommended approach (alternative)
If you need to include/exclude a large number of specific products, we strongly recommend using Enrichments instead of long value lists.
A better workflow is:
- Use Google Sheets (DS enrichment) or another enrichment source
- Mark or categorize your products (e.g. with a custom label or flag)
- Use a simple condition based on that label
This approach provides:
- Faster performance
- Cleaner and more manageable conditions
- Easier updates and maintenance
- Always up-to-date data
